There's an old phrase that I love. It says something like - you can not yank on a flower to make it grow quicker.
How extraordinary is that?
Developing true patience must be one of the hardest things to really develop. But without patience, we really don't give ourselves the real opportunity to see things fully through. Similarly, there are many things in this world that call for our patience and will only develop when we really bring it into our lives. Sometimes there's half finished business we have with somebody or we are just giving something the space and time to grow and develop. Think about all of your dreams. Oftentimes, our dreams don't happen as we aren't yet the person that can actually accomplish them. In reality that's about always so. We do not get what we need so we can grow into the individual we really need to be to accomplish our greatest desires.
Patience is the key to permitting our future to unfold in front of us without our projections onto it. Patience, is the power to stay utterly present in the instant while not trying to live forward.
This is hard. Really tough.
Most of the time we would like to make things turn out exactly the way in which we see them in our mind. The real issue with this is that we are attempting to control a place that is really wild and free. Often, the future unfolds in completely different strategies than what we expected it to be. This is not necessarily a bad thing though. Rather, this can be a unreserved present giving us what we really required instead of what we wanted. Wouldn't you rather just live in that place - a place of complete possibility and opportunity?
When we let go of what we think should occur, we make allowances for life to really surprise us.
Develop some patience. Everything will come to you in the appropriate time.
