Achieving Goals Through True Inspiration

By Kim Warrior

There are so many who seek to follow their dreams and aspirations but have great difficulty in doing so. The inspiration they seek can be so fickle and elusive but they keep right on seeking the way to accomplish their highest goals in the most effective manner possible.

To be inspired is not a bonus event but rather the base for any type of artistic or creative undertaking. The outcome will greatly depend on your personal level of experience and the level of great internal motivation that you have been exposed to or that you are opening yourself up to.

What a person must realize is that you can't just decide to be inspired, it must be able to find you so it is up to you to create the best environment possible for its arrival. If an individual is not motivated to work, the very next best move would be to start your project or work of art anyway. An individual cannot just sit there and wait for a lightning strike to hit them. The work sometimes must just be begun, knowing that the flow will come when one is immersed in their passion.

If you are a devoted writer, for example, you might have the mistaken belief that you cannot work unless you are inspired. This is exactly why so much great work is left totally and completely undone. The best route to take is to just sit down and begin to write even if it is just free writing. After a time, the muse will appear and letters and words will just flow from your fingers. You will feel as if it has nothing to do with you and be as if your hands were writing on their own.

Peak performance will almost always depend on the talents you have in your possession. If you are a writer or artist, the deep communication between your hands and your muse will appear to be a separate entity from your mind, but it is definitely not. Your mind is actually pulling out all of your past, your dreams and your knowledge from the deepest wells within you to create amazing works that are derived from within your soul.

It will be totally impossible to track those moments when you were truly and deeply inspired. It is a fickle spirit and comes and goes as it pleases. What an individual can do is to track the time of day that they are most prone to being inspired, when their emotions run the highest. For many, it is just as the sun is coming up. For others, it may be mid-day or during the twilight hours.

Once you have found the secret to creating the best environment for your creative juices to flow, you may pass it on to others and make an impact on their futures. When you see a friend or acquaintance just whiling away their talents because they are waiting to be inspired, put them on the right path. Helping them by putting them to work on their life dreams will get them moving in the right direction. Show them how this creature will eventually show up and make their artistic lives worth living.

It just is not effective to wait until one is inspired. The best way to become an actualized individual is to put oneself out there and begin the project whether one is in the mood for it or not. The end result may not be the absolute perfect creation, but it can be a great start to gaining one's peak performances, writings, or paintings. If you work hard at your talent, the most inspired moments will come to you when least expected.
