You will not succeed if you don't learn to live a life without alcohol. For every one thousand alcoholics, only one stays sober for at least 2 years. The odds are dismal but there is a way to be that 1.

You will be unsuccessful if you don't follow the methodical process to quit drinking liquor.

First, you must admit to yourself that you should quit drinking.

If you really would like to give up drinking alcohol then you have to jot down each and every possible reason why you. Write down each and every reason you can think of. Be sure and include anyone you hurt, how humiliated you are, and any damage you have caused. Put this paper in a safe place so that you could read it if you need to expel any doubt that your should give up drinking alcohol.

If you need more convincing then think of the money you could save if you stop going to pubs and purchasing alcohol. With the legal fees, you could bring home your entire income. Check your credit card statements and your budget; do not just invent numbers. Try to figure out how much alcohol is costing you not just mentally, physically, relationally but financially.

This kind of truthful introspection is something you would have to get used to in order to come to terms with your life and recover completely. You will know when you're prepared and committed to stop drinking liquor.

Get to a Doctor

The damage done to your body is something only a medical doctor can evaluate. Your medical doctor could also evaluate how you should quit drinking. There are two choices - do it on your own or be medically supervised in a hospital.

Try to go to as many meetings within your neighborhood or better yet, try to go to ninety meetings within 90 days. You will find out much more about quitting in these meetings than anywhere else.
