Valuable Standpoints Of Tempe Liberal Church

By Linda Kennedy

In the modern world, science and technology have taken full effect of events bringing a recognizable gap between scholar and theologians in matters concerning the faith. There have been attempts to harmonize the differences, but eventually, conservatives remain adamant to compromise on certain issue thereby widening the rift. Below are some valuable perspectives of Tempe liberal church.

The first to discuss is the authority of the religion as a true belief. Their perspective is that there is no sole authority powerhouse, but they acknowledge the contribution of modern knowledge and experience in interpretation of Holy Scriptures. They believe that Christianity should be modern and progressive thereby undergoing a sense of revolution in its way of interpretation thus relevant without being based on external authority.

They also have another task of revolving the world into a better place for everyone. This could be seen as a contrary view of the coming of a new fair world ruled by the Christ as sited in scriptures. They explain that they believe in the coming of such an authority but also wants people and more so Christians to create a good place for everyone rather than stay without doing anything.

It is also in their declaration that Christianity should be reliable and relevant touching the life of modern setup. It is a claim to allow modern intellect to contribute to the explanation of various mysteries where they are enough evidence to support a given claim. They allow social science and science of nature to give judgments on various issues and allow individual reasoning experience in support of ethical living.

They also divert the thought that only particular ways of truths are the sole truth, especially where presented in certain forms and symbols. They advocate for changes that will lead to more reasonable interpretation rather than symbolic or analogy that was presented by predecessors and made like the truth itself. They discourage adoration of symbols and forms as the real truths.

It is also in their understanding that all the controversy seen at various platforms in disagreements of various truths and facts is because of the language. The main idea is that the basic belief is the same only the packaging is different. They explain the interpretation from one language to another and presentation of analogies are the main concerns not lack of belief.

Another notable thing is the issue of bible story accuracies and presentation of facts. They argue that the main thing is the teaching not how historically the stories may be aligned and facts presented. The emphasis is on what is taught in the gospels about Christ but not what format they are presented in or rather chronology in various books of the gospel.

Finally, they insist and emphasize that the true faith is the way of Christ. They discourage the adoration of doctrine about the savior but the actual focus on Christ himself. This is all in attempt to show that what is more important is the faith author not what is known about him.
