Dance Your Worries Away: Stroke Rehabilitation

By Pamela Ward

There are things that you wouldn t go a day without doing. These are activities that make you happy and that is why you can do them every given day. Having a talent is a great way of teaching someone what you know and love to do. However, when you not as talented as you wish you were, you also want to be taught and a dancing class can give you the lessons that you want and be part of your stroke rehabilitation.

Joining a dancing class is not only for beginners or people who have little experience in dancing. Experienced people could also join. They then use this platform to better their skills as one is never too young to learn. However, the most reason of joining such a class is for accomplishment and pleasure.

Another benefit is to be able to connect with people. When you are the shy type, it might be difficult to be able to dance in front of an audience. That said, joining a dance class has the ability to get you out of your comfort zone and make you get used to dancing in front of large groups. You are a dancer after all, aren t you?

Don t fear your dancing teachers. They are at your disposal to teach you and to show you how you need to be better. They may come off as intimidating but you have to ask them if there is anything you don t understand, that s what they there for after all. Don t wait until it is too late to ask for assistance. Speak as soon as you need help.

There will be some tough days. The tutors are not really easy to please as they want you to be the best you can on stage and for the world. It is their reputation that s on the line and they don t want to ruin it by teaching you mediocre dancing skills that will amount to nothing in the industry. Instead, they push you and may even put pressure on you to stay close to perfection.

Give yourself as much time as you need to perfect your dancing skills. It won t happen overnight but if you give yourself enough time to get in the mood and the spirit of dancing, you will be proud of what you can accomplish. Some days will be better than the others and you need to be prepared for the journey.

Just because you love something or you good at something doesn t mean you don t have to perfect it. You still need to practice regardless of how good you have become in dancing. The people that really want to see you happy will support you in what you enjoy doing instead of mocking your passion.

Don t always people stop you from doing what your heart desires. If you have to be the only black sheep at home that likes to dance, then so be it. The whole idea is to be happy right? Anybody and everyone else can wait! You and your joy comes first. Nothing and nobody else should stop or judge you for following your heart.
